Another study carried out by office supplies company Viking who swabbed a number of desks found bacteria such as Staphylococcus, Bacillus and Micrococcus, indicating a poor level of hygiene largely resulting from hot desking and workers eating lunch at their desks!

Call Clean would like to offer their congratulations to Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club who won the Division One County Championship at Old Trafford yesterday.

The cricket club, who recognise Call Clean as a corporate sponsor, won the title against Somerset after originally being a second favourite to win the tournament.

Nottinghamshire began the final day on 89-2 but managed to secure further points to declare a 400-9 win.

Commenting on the win, Martin Booth, Call Clean’s Managing Director said:

Martin Booth, Call Clean’s Managing Director, advises that using a chemical spray and hoovering mattresses on a weekly basis using a HEPA filter vacuum cleaner is the first step people should take to help keep bedbugs at bay.

For those who have allergies, a dry steam machine operating at a minimum temperature of 170 degrees followed by a HEPA filter is recommended to remove all traces of mites in the affected areas both quickly and efficiently.

The insects tend to enter homes in either clothing or furniture but can also transfer between properties through cavities in the wall and floor. They are usually found in mattresses, bed frames and other bedroom furniture and come out at night due to the attraction of the warmth and carbon dioxide expired by sleeping bodies.
